Saltwater Flies

The saltwater fly is a class act, innovated to imitate a huge range of inshore, offshore and estuarial baitfish, crustaceans and other saltwater prey. You'll usually notice a saltwater fly pattern that represents a shrimp, crab, baitfish, or a mix of the three. The saltwater fly is superb for sub-surface & surface patterns. Materials used on saltwater flies are similar to Native flies, the use of dubbing, dumbbell eyes crab legs, rubber legs and furs like rabbit, fox and raccoon. Saltwater flies are easy to tie compared to trout flies as they are tied on larger hooks.
Saltwater fly fishing is a great alternitive to traditional fly fishing and opens up more fish species to fly fish for. Many fly patterns can be adopted for saltwater patterns. If you need any help choosing a fly or saltwater fly pateren just give us ba call on 1300 034 075
