The freshwater fly are made up of dry flies, nymphs both weighted nymphs and unweighted and wets & streamers. These can also include some Native Species Flies.
We use these freshwater flies when fly fishing for mostly freshwater species such as trout and some native species.
Dry fly fishing is most popular because it is visual which adds to the excitement.
Nymph fly fishing is most succesful as trout spend most of the time feeding on nymphs.
When fly fishing with streamers you are trying to encourage to strike the fly as a food source or as a teratorial strike.
Saltwater flies are for fly fishing for saltwater species and are a different subject all together that we will disscus in an other catagory.
So next trip when your at that rushing mountain stream be sure to have a good selection of quality freshwater flies for the perfect catch.
When buying freshwater flies be sure that the flies are tied on quality fly tying hooks, the last thing you want is a hook to break or bend when trying to land a fish.
